Wonderful Vintage Hungarian Matyó Hand-Embroidered Round Tablecloth – 1960s
Exceptionally richly hand-embroidered Hungarian folk textile from the 1960s, decorated with traditional Matyó-style floral motifs. The black ground is almost completely covered with vibrant red, burgundy, blue, pink, orange and yellow flowers.
The dense, raised embroidery was executed with beautifully lustrous threads, creating a striking three-dimensional effect. The edge is finished with long multicoloured fringes.
