Late 19th-Century Cobalt Blue Crystal and Gilt Bronze Centrepiece , Possibly Austrian or Imperial Russian.
An impressive late 19th-century centrepiece featuring a richly decorated cobalt-blue crystal bowl mounted on an ornate gilt-bronze base.
The crystal displays elaborate geometric and leaf-pattern decoration, together with small natural air bubbles consistent with traditional hand production. The bowl is secured to the bronze mount using an old plaster- or cement-based fixing material typical of period construction.
The exact place of manufacture is unconfirmed. Comparable examples have been attributed to both Austrian and Imperial Russian production.
