Authentic traditional Hungarian textile from the Bereg region, dating from the 1950s. This piece is entirely handmade. The natural fabric was woven by hand and decorated with traditional cobalt-blue cross-stitch embroidery, also executed entirely by hand. The decorative blue edging is handmade as well.

The subtle irregularities in the weave are characteristic of traditional hand craftsmanship and contribute to the textile’s authentic character. A beautiful example of mid-20th-century Hungarian folk textile art, suitable for an antique table, country house or traditional interior.
