Pair of French Charles X Three-Light Gilt Bronze Figural Candelabra, Early 19th Century A finely crafted and richly decorated pair of French Charles X-style three-light gilt bronze candelabra dating from the early 19th century. Each candelabrum features a tall fluted central stem supporting three candle holders. The entire structure is covered with elaborate sculptural bronze decoration. The bases are particularly impressive, decorated with putti, mythological mask heads, cartouche-shaped ornaments, scrolls, acanthus leaves and pointed finials. The three-footed bases feature figurative mythological heads, while the central sections are adorned with several finely modelled putti. The detailed casting, classical and figurative ornamentation, and rich gilding are characteristic of the luxurious decorative arts of the French Restoration and Charles X period. Height: 55 cm The surfaces retain a natural age-related patina consistent with their period.
